2022/23 Season

Junior Coaching

• Junior Coaching Club nights will continue to take place on a Friday night starting at 6pm and finishing at 7pm.

• There are two seasons of junior coaching and we only coach during term time:

  • ​Autumn Season: Friday 16 September 2022 to Friday 16 December 2022 (term time only)

  • Winter Season: Friday 06 January 2023 to Friday 31 March 2023 (provisional and term time only)

• The cost is £50 per season and must be paid prior to the first session with payment made by direct bank transfer. Please can you text the club secretary on 07990513846 once payment has been made.

• The junior membership form must be complete prior to starting

 

Senior Club

• Senior Club will continue to take place on a Friday night starting at 7pm and finishing at 9:45pm.  

• The first senior club night will be Friday 09 September 2022 and finish on Friday 16 December 2022, restarting on Friday 06 January 2023 to Friday 31 March 2023

• The fees payable for the Senior Club are:

  • ​£100 for junior members

  • £130 for senior members

  • £50 for students who are attending University (evidence will be required)

 

These fees must be paid by the end of September to enable appropriate registration. If payment is not made by the end of September the club reserves the right to charge an additional £10.

• For players starting midway through a season payment will be agreed with the Treasurer

• £5 per night for visitor fees up to a maximum of three visits at which point full affiliation must be paid

• The attached senior membership form must be completed prior to starting

 

Matches

• Home match nights will remain on Wednesday nights at 7pm to 9pm. If necessary a match may take place on a Friday club night.

• Match fees remain at £5 and must be paid promptly and notified to the Treasurer

2021/22 Season

The club has now held our Annual General Meeting and part of this included a discussion on the 2021/22 season for both our senior club and our junior club. It was decided that:

• Our Junior Coaching Club nights will continue to take place on a Friday night starting at 6pm. The format of these sessions is still to be decided and a separate letter will be sent out to those existing juniors and those who have expressed an interest.

• Senior Club will commence on 3 September 2021 and finishes on 1 April 2022 (there will be a break at Christmas). The time of theses senior club sessions will be  7-10pm, with two courts between 7-8pm and all four courts between 8-10pm.

  • ​The fees payable for the Senior Club will remain at £100 for junior members and £130 for senior members and these must be paid by the end of September to enable appropriate registration.

  • ​​Home match nights, if they are set up, will remain on Wednesday nights at 7-9pm.

  • Match fees remain at £5 although matches and league set up are yet to be confirmed.

 

Despite the lifting of restrictions, it is vital to ensure we all maintain vigilance with the current national guidance that may be in force from time to time. It is incumbent on us all to ensure we follow the guidance and that includes being aware of any social distance rules in place, the rules relating to test and trace or where you have been in contact with anyone testing positive for Covid. 2021 Annual General Meeting - 25 August 2021 at 7:00pm

I am pleased to confirm that we are looking to commence playing badminton again at the beginning of September. 2020 Annual General Meeting - 27 October 2020 at 7:30pm

We hope you are all well in this difficult time. In light of COVID-19 we had postponed our Annual General Meeting and the start of the season as we were informed that our current venue is unavailable until at least the New Year and immediately following this, the 'rule of 6' was introduced. 

 

As a management committee we have continued to meet to find ways for the club to begin playing again and provide people with some structure and something to look forward to over the winter. 

 

Clearly this needs to be in a safe way, in line with the Badminton England regulations. Also, I am sure you can appreciate, this has taken considerable planning and this season will be very different. We would like to share how we plan to run senior club nights from the end of this month and invite you to a virtual AGM and meeting, details of how to access this are below:

We recognise that COVID-19 has impacted lots of people in different ways and there is no expectation for senior members to begin playing again unless you feel comfortable to do so. You will all continue to be part of the KBC family and hopefully we can be back playing as normal in 2021. 

 

Unfortunately at this time there are no plans to resume our junior coaching due to the difficulties in obtaining a suitable venue for the size of the junior club. 

 

We recognise things are constantly changing and any plans we make will be monitored in line with local and national guidelines.

2020/21 Season - 17 August 2020

During the summer Badminton England released guidance on returning to play badminton which you may have received. If you have not received a copy or link and do want a copy please let the club know.

 

We have been working hard with our partners to look at the options available for our club to begin playing and coaching in September as usual.  We have now been informed that we will be unable to start our club and coaching at Bishop Stopford until the end of October at the earliest due their current restrictions that are in place.  We continue to be in dialogue with them and will provide updates as we can as we will be looking to restart our badminton club and coaching as soon as possible.

 

The club’s website continues to be updated regularly with news and you can access it at https://www.ketteringbadmintonclub.co.uk/. Our website now includes the clubs vision and values and we have also secured a link to a badminton retailer that is offering our members a 10% discount - just enter ‘KETBC10’ at the checkout.
